As reflected in the 2016 state CIOs survey conducted by NASCIO, the top 10 technology issues state governments face are the same as the previous year – maintaining existing legacy systems and services while quickly adapting to new technology and security challenges.
Today government CIOs face the same challenges as private sector CIOs. However, government CIOs generally experience a more complex cultural, political, and resource-challenged environment while dealing with challenges such as shrinking budgets and pressure to adopt new technology trends such as Agile, Web and mobile in a timely manner.
